Partition backups are lost

Thread needs solution

Hello!
I use full version of your Acronis True Image 2014. My backups are stored in external HD Samsung D3 Station, 2Tb which is connectet via USB 2.0. I use Windows Vista Home Premium.

I have created some partition backups which has been also validated. Than I connected out my external HDD and again connected in and started my Acronis. I didn't find any back up from my partition backups!!! There are just options to back it up now and label "The backup is valid." but no button to recover this backups.
I have also tried to add backup manually but it doesn't work.

This is very basic operation with your software. Could you help me with this problem?

Thanks so much!

Boot from the user created TI Recovery CD.
Use the Recover opiton.
use the browse for backup option and browse to your desired backup.
Use the add to list option.

This link may also help from inside Windows.

Thank you GroverH. But I don't want to recover my backup. I just want to have this backup correctly in the Backup and recovery tab. I think there is some bug, but I don't know.

Finally I solved it in this way:
1) delete settings only
2) Add backup and browse for it.
3) Recreate backup settings
This way works.

But I have question - when I re-add this backup (I use version chain) - shall I continue in this chain? I mean - does Acronis True Image recognize older backup and later can I continue with this chain?

It seems that this way is possible but I hope for some update...

From what I am understanding, the process is not quite right.

If it were me, I would not try to add more new backups but would stop using that task and create a new task and point the new task to a new storage folder or sub-folder.

You really do not need to have the old backup to be listed at all. It can be added to the list for Recovery at the time Recovery is planned. It can be added via the Browse for backup/add to list options. On my system, the only tasks which appear on my main listing is ones that are current and have backups being added manually or via a schedule.

if the old backup files exist and all backup files included, then it can be accessed for recovery at any time you need to do a recovery.

If you creaete new tasks, review link 2 below and especially illustration 1 plus illustration 11-Inc or 11-Full or 11-Dif--depending upon which type backup schemes you plan to use. The automatic cleanup option helps to keep an orderly flow of revoving backups--new added and the older ones deletes as per user settings.
