Partition to disk

Thread needs solution

I specifically purchased Acronis True Image Home 2011 with Plus Pack because I need to move a single partition on a new hard drive.
There is a way to do this?

Stefano,

First, make sure you have only one partition. To do this, run C:\Windows\System32\compmgmt.msc, double click storage, disk management.
If you see several partitions on your system disk, print a screen capture of this disk management console, then:
- boot on the Acronis recovery CD,
- make an all-partition disk and partition backup of your system disk (note that on the CD the disk letters are different than in Windows. Take a good look at the drive labels),
- validate your backup,
- replace your old disk by your new disk, on the same connectors (touch the frame of the computer as often as you can to avoid static electricity discharges during the hardware operation: this can fry your components)
- reboot your computer on the Acronis recovery CD,
- restore all your partitions in the same order they were before, one after the other, no need to reboot in between:
+ do not resize any hidden partition, you can resize non-hidden partitions the way you want to maximize the space used on your new disk,
+ mark the partition that was active active as you restore that partition (only one partition is active, if you have only one partition, it has to be active),
- after the last partition, restore the MBR+track0 and the disk signature
- voila!

I think I have not explained clearly.
Now I have a disk with three partitions:

1. OS1 (active)
2. OS2
3. OS3

I need to move only the partition # 3 in a new disk, if possible.

Yes, you can do a backup of OS3 and restore it on your new disk. If you currently have a boot loader to choose the partition, you will have to "repair the startup" with your Windows installation DVD (Windows), or your favorite boot loader.

But the program only allows me to clone the entire disk , how can I do this ?

You can only clone the entire disk, but you can do a disk and partition backup of that partition alone, and then restore that partition on your new disk.
Save the backup to a USB disk, create a recovery CD with ATI 2011, boot your computer on the CD to verify you can access the backup and do the restore.
