Partitions

Thread needs solution

When I do a restore, I am asked where to put 1 and C. Since I do not know what these partitions are, I have to take a guess.

I am always restoring the entire image on my C drive. Where should these partitions go?

Is there a way to simply tell the program to restore your C drive with the backup file you designate?

Hi Robert, if you restore the entire image, check all the partitions of your backup of the disk and the MBR+track0, or simply check the box at the disk name level (all corresponding partitions adn the MBR +Track0 will be selected automatically). You will just need to select the destination disk.

Watch out though: make sure that you have all the partitions included in the backup. You can see all partitions by using Windows disk management (hidden partitions are not visible with Windows Explorer). IF you have a partition that is not included, do a new backup with all of them. If you restore the entire disk image that is missing a partition, that partition will be erased from the destination disk and only the partitions included in the backup will be restored.
