PC wont shut down - ops in progress

Thread needs solution

I have 2015 and each day I have to manually change the setting to "do not schedule" or it reverts to weekly and stops my PC from closing down. I dont have cloud back up. Any ideas?

When I click on the desktop icon its asks for Acronis to make changes. If I dont allow then the software wont open.

Matt, the problem with needing to manually change the settings for scheduling every day suggests that your backup task has become corrupt in some way, or that the database which holds information about the task has.

It shouldn't be necessary to have to take these daily actions.

My suggestions are as follows:

Try creating a new backup task with a different task name and pointed at a different target folder but with all the same configuration as the problem task - see if that works correctly without any schedule changes occurring.

If you still have a problem with a new task, the next step would be to try deleting or renaming the Database folder (in C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Database path) - the folder may be hidden on some systems.  Ensure that you have stopped all Acronis tasks and Services first, then restart the Services and launch Acronis and it will recreate the Database folder / contents - see if that corrects the problem.

If none of the above works, then the final suggestion would be to uninstall ATIH 2015, run the Acronis Cleanup tool (link in my signature) and then reinstall ATIH 2015 (ideally from a fresh download of the installer from your Acronis Account).  With this method you will need to recreate the backup task again, but none of your backup images will be affected.
