Please locate the last volume of the backup

Thread needs solution

Hi,
I had SSD problems, and had to reload and restore.
I choose my last backup, and for EVERY file I choose I get prompted to "Please locate the last volume of the backup"

This has made it impossible to restore as I constantly get prompted.

Any ideas on this please?

Thanks

Petevick,

Is your image on another hard drive or on CDs?

If on a hard drive, have the images been split because of using a FAT32 system instead of NTFS?

If using an external drive how is it connected and is it a USB3 or 2 type?

Hi,
Thanks - it is on a USB2 external drive.

Trying an older backup works fine - it is just the last one (the one I need) that is in this state

Pete

Petevick,

As you can see, ATI is looking for a backup file that is missing. If you cannot point ATI to the missing file, your backup chain is corrupt.

Is your USB disk drive formatted FAT 32? On these disks, ATI has to split the backup in files not exceeding 4GB each in size. The message you are seeing could be explained by the fact that ATI is missing on slice.

Thanks - I eventually gave it up and retrieved some files from elsewhere, as I back up vital files to a server in addition to Acronis - good job really.
