PLEASE LOCATE THE LAST VOLUME OF THE BACKUP - message repeatedly appearing

Thread needs solution

This is an old bug that is still there. Is there a workaround?

The problem is when you use explorer to open and navigate down though a backup file the referenced message appears every time you try to navigate into a directory.

I have not used a backup password or encryption which had caused this problem for others previously.

I am using a OEM version of TrueImage HD 2014 Build 4601 which came with a WD My Passport usb disk I bought for doing backups.

Hi Robert,

I too regularly have problems with this (over a few different versions of the software including ATI 2015) and am really keen for an answer before I eventually jump ship from the platform altogether.

It's a bit of a shock when you check to see what would happen if you actually lost the files you were backing up, only to discover you have to nurse Explorer through every version of the backup chain for EACH separate file you wish to retrieve. Totally unworkable.

What's worse in a sense is that you don't know or receive an error message about backups that will have this problem - so you merrily keep backing up, validating etc. but may well be effectively wasting your time. I dare say that if many users tried this they would discover they are having the same issue. I back up 6 pcs with Acronis and 3 had backups affected by this. It's weird.

It seems that backing up to a network drive can create more of this problem for me; but you seem to have it too with a USB drive.

Anyway, the help of the community would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks,

It may not be a good solution but have you tried booting to the TI Recovery CD and perform the backup using the CD.
Actually, TI does not even need to be installed to have quality backups.
