good morning friends!
i bought a new hard disk western digital 1 tera byte 64mb cache and i made partition using true image home 2011 from a friends computer.
i made 6 partitions as follows:
C: for os (60gb)
D: (20gb)
e: (10gb)
f: (10gb)
G: (200gb)
H: (300gb)

when i try to install a fresh copy of windows xp profressional on C: drive
with the same format as formated by acronics true image home 2011 orginally without formatting again. but when computer rebooted again it showed error cant start os.
i installed it again in friends computer and now it is showing just D: drive and E: drive and all other space went unallocated although it has all my data.

dev-anon,
The Add New Disk wizard in TI lets you partition a drive.
I'm also curious about how the data got on the drive. I would guess that it was copied or restored at the time the drive was switched and then (possibly ?) not backed up again.

KARAN SHARMA,
The partitions may be able to be undeleted using a partition recovery program.
What version of XP did you try to install? The first release (pre-SP1) may have problems with large drives and cause corruption.

Thanks brother for showing your interest to help me.. i mention it in detail now.
i bought a new hard disk 1 tera byte frm western digital 64mb cache.
i had another disk 320 gb which had all my data on it and it has windows xp sp2 installed.
i installed true image 2011 on 320gb hard disk and used another new 1 tera byte hard disk as a slave and made partitions on it using true image 2011 as follows:
i made 6 partitions as follows:
C: for os (60gb)
D: (20gb)
e: (10gb)
f: (10gb)
G: (200gb)
H: (300gb)
I: ( 300gb)
(note the jumper was put on 7-8 as suggested by western digital hard disk (1 tera byte)
after i made partitions in 1 tera byte hard disk i tranfered all my data from 320 gb( old hard disk with xp pro sp2 installed) to new 1 tera byte. i remove the old one when data reached to new one tera byet and try to install xp pro on new one. booted ok and when the partition screen comes showing all partitions i choosed to installed xp on C: drive with no format change as it was already formatted with true image and windows copied files okay but after copying when it rebooted system said can not start windows operating system.
i put my old 320 gb hard disk back to system but now it is showing just two partitions and all my data partitions became anallocated.
help me please/

Did you try to use the XP installation CD and the Recovery Console?
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307654
At least this way, you would see your existing partitions, verify that C:\ is correctly identified as a windows installation partition and maybe the recovery console can fix your boot issue.
Did you erase all your data from your 320GB disk? If yes, you might still be able to recover your files using a file recovery tool. If you have your data (back) on your 320gb, boot on your new fixed disk and redo the partitions in Windows.
If all your data is only on the new screwed up 1TB disk, and there is no way to find it on the 320GB disk, I don't know if there is a way to fix the MBR and recover the partitions that disappeared. Maybe more competent people can help out.
