Primary user login information rejected

Thread needs solution

I run TIH 10 in Windows XP. When I tried to schedule backups using my primary (only) user, that has administrative privileges, I get the "login information is not valid" warning. If I ignore it, the scheduled operation does not proceed.

I have reset both the name and the password of the primary (only) user and TIH rejects that as well.

However, if I add another user with a different password, TIH accepts that and the "login information is not valid" warning does not appear.

Why would TIH make me add a user I don't want in order to run scheduled backups?

What's the fix so that I can return to a single-user system?

Hello Richard,

Thank you for posting. I will do my best to assist you.

First of all, please make sure that you are using the latest build of Acronis True Image 10 Home to eliminate any issues in the product.

After that, we need to make sure that the Acronis Scheduler Service is running under a Local System account instead of your user. Please check this KB article for more information and for ways of changing the account.

If it does not help, I would really appreciate if you can generate this report from the user account that has this issue.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
