Problem with Backup
Hi, I have just downloaded the True Image Home 2011 (build 5519) and am trying to create a Full Backup of my Laptop Hard Drive but after 3 DVDs and 2 hours, I always get a problem at the end (15mins to go!). I think it stops at the 'Consolidating Disc' part right at the end which is extremely annoying!
Machine is Dell XPS M1330 running Windows 7 Professional.
Can anyone help??? Is it a known problem? I've tried the search but to no avail.
Thanks in advance!
Paul

Hi Colin, the total size of the backup looks to be 10.5gb (3 dvds). I wouldn't have a clue as to the slices (haven't changed any settings since installing the program yesterday)
The error logs has two messages.
First one says ''Failed to open file '(0)' for reading. Error: (1)'' with 0x000B03B9 as an event code.
Second one says ''Operation has completed with errors'' with 0x013C0005 as the event code.
Hope someone can help.

Is the DVD drive internal to the laptop, external or in a dock?
Is anything actually written to the DVD's? Note with DVD's there will be an awful lot of disk swapping, you wouldn't be a happy bunny if you ever need more than 3 DVD's, you'll need a chiropractor! :)
If you can lay your hands on an external hard drive can you test to see if TI behaves itself.
Have you run chkdsk /r on your internal drive?
Are you using DVD+ or -? Changing to DVD-R might work.
Are you connected to an Exchange Server via Outlook?

Hi again. It is an internal DVD writer. I'm using DVD-Rs. Haven't got an external drive to use :(
I'm not connected to an exchange server as I don't use Outlook, but I have got googlemail constantly checking for emails on my taskbar, could that be a problem? Should I close down all programs before starting the backup?
It seems to write the first 2 dvds no problem, and almost gets to the end of the 3rd, but right at the end it gives me the above errors.
I'll run chkdsk/r now
Any other thoughts?

Whilst trying to find out the cause, I would suggest closing googlemail down, though I doubt that it is the problem.
