Problem seeing destination disk

Thread needs solution

Hi,

Q. will True Image overcome the problems I am having with seagate diskwizard?

I am trying to clone a disk using Seagates DiscWizard utility.
When the system boots into Seagates standalone version of Discwizard to begin the process the diskwizard utility errors. 'One or more of your removeable disks may not have started'. Nothing I do gets me past this point although the error suggests a disc is not spinning up. Doubtful as there are no issues when I boot into Windows.

As a workaround I have run Seagates discwizard from windows and executed the disk recovery function. I see the backup source file but cannot see listed in the utility the recovery destination. Although I can see other USB attached disks. I know the disk is ok because I have booted into windows previously and I can see a drive letter as well as write/read to this destination disk.

So sorry this is all about seagates version of True image but any thoughts if the full version will overcome my problems?

Regards,
Mark

One option to try would be to plug in the disk into a usb2 receptacle.
Also check when disk is in Windows that the disk has the sleep feature disabled.

These may help.
GH42. USB prevent sleeping.
GH43. USB Set caching/quick removal on usb disks.
I also had a WD passport which had the factoy default set to a timer to sleep and I needed to reset the option to "Do not turn off".
