Problems with planned backup tasks.

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I'm using the German Version of ATIH 2012(Build5545) upgradet from ATIH 2010, and have following problems with planned backup:

I have two planned backup tasks.

The first for back up of two partitions and the second for file and folder backup. The first is event controlled but none of the offered four options(at logon, at logoff, at systemstart and at system shutdown) works, that means, no backup is launchend when one of these options is chosen. So I always have to launch this task manually.

The second task is time controlled scheduled at fixed time each day. It works well at fixed time but also launches a backup of files and folders at that event chosen for the first task! Both tasks use Acronis Secure Zone for their backups. These tasks were running perfectly in ATIH 2010!

Operating system is Windows 7 Professional.

Who knows or has an idea what's going wrong in this case? Thank you in advance for help.

Klaus,
Download the Acronis Schedule Manager and ZAP all your tasks. This will just delete the schedules. Then:
- move the TIB files you want to keep to another directory for safekeeping,
- delete (not remove) your tasks in ATI,
- set up new taks with the settings you want.

Thanks for your answer Pat L. But being not very familiar with ATI details and internals I have som questions:

I've found and downloaded Acronis Scheduler 2 Build 465. Seems to be last version??

How does that work?

How can I find TIB files in Acronis Secure Zone? I tried with Windows Explorer and with ATI but no TIB files were displayed anywhere to access.

Klaus,

Look here for instructions on how to use the schedule manager:

Since you are using the ASZ, you cannot copy the TIB files manually. You can use the Move Backup command from ATI, but it takes a long time. Ifyou are OK with losing your backups, just delete the tasks. If you are not OK with losing your backups, try first to just remove the task (not delete).

Pat L,

I have carried out the proposed procedure and it was almost successfull. Event controlled backup tasks now work to 75%, that means, only at system start scheduled task doesn't work, the three others do now. On this occasion I found, that under event controlled tasks for file and folder no options are offered, so you can't use it.

I think, we can stop here and I'll use that options which work. Thank you once mor for your help and afterwards I apologize for my bad English, probably full of mistakes.
