Progress Bar not working

Thread needs solution

I have been using ATIH V9 for many years and have been very happy with the results.
I have recently upgraded to a new computer running Win7 (32bit) and therefore had to upgrade to ATIH 2012 (build7119).
To get a feel for the new interface (I MUCH prefer the old one!), I thought that I should make a few images and see how it works.
Right away I noticed when running a task, the program says Backing up: ... and the Time left: calculating... but the progress bar shows no progress. I wait about 30 min and nothing changes so I check the log and it says successfully created in about 8 min. I close the program and restart ATIH and shortly after starting I get an error stating that ATIH must be shut down. It won't close and the only way to close it is with the taskmanager. I restart ATIH again and everything seems ok. This has happened three times now after making three different images and even rebooting in between.
Is this a bug?
It is pretty important to me to know when the program is finished with the tasks so I can move on with whatever I am needing to do.
Is there a setting in windows services that needs to be altered or anything else that I might be missing?

Thanks,
Jad

While, the progress bar is usually not much help, the other symptoms you describe are not how it's supposed to work. It's hanging or looping somewhere or having a problem calling/releasing one of its services -- although it's completing the backup (thank goodness).

I'd try this first.
run msconfig to disable all nonmicrosoft services and all startup programs, reboot, run the ati installer and select repair, reboot see if prob persists. IF not, then use msconfig to return to normal start up. Test again, if prob returns, then it's probably an conflict with other software, but if not, then it was probably an corrupted program file and the repair fixed it.
