Questions about Syncronize

Thread needs solution

Good day everyone,

I've just set up some sychronized folders that go from my internal hard disk to an external USB.

I noticed that it syncs both ways. So if I delete a file from the backup folder on the external it will delete the same file from the internal drive and vice-versa. I can certainly see the value of the functionality. however this leads me to my first question:

1) Is there any way to configure synchronize so that it's "one-way" only? In other words, the internal drive would be the "master" and the external would sync to it only. So if a file was deleted from the external drive, the sync would replace it (instead of deleting on the master) because it exists on the master.

The second question I have is regarding when the synchronization occurs. I have the syncs set to automatic, but how and when does that work?
1) Is there a way to "schedule" when you want the folders to synch? Rather than snych all the time or pause them, Can I configure sychronize to only sync between 10pm and 6am or something like that? It just seems like it could use up a lot of memory if I'm making constant changes to one of the synched folders.

Thanks!!
Jason

Unfortunately you cannot alter the way syncs works.

No, you cannot schedule when the syncs happen. The point is to keep things in sync, so ATI's sync runs all the time.

You have other software solutions to sync on a schedule, sync one way or 2 way, retain versions, etc.

Would any of those other software solution be offered by Acronis?

Thanks for getting back to me.

Jason,

No. You can look at free tools like Microsoft SyncToy (for XP), Karen's replicator, SyncBack. Paid-for solutions include GoodSync, SyncBack SE.
I am using SyncBack SE for all my content.

Microsoft SyncToy also works on Vista and Win7. :)

I don't think my acronis online is backing up my files. I pay every month and I just figured it was fine but looking at it today it looks like the last backup was in June. How do I fix this?
