Receiveing Application Error (TrueImageMonitor.exe) & System Crashes in Windows XP SP3
Ever since I upgraded from ATIH 2011 to ATIH 2012 I've been periodically finding my computer locked up with two windows opened. One indicated:
TrueImageMonitor.exe - Application Error
When I close that window another Windows generated message indicates my computer is locked. I don't use a password on my computer so not sure why this is happening. Also, all my desktop icons are gone (but desktop graphic is there) at this point and the system hangs. I have to reboot at this point.
I never had a problem with ATIH 2011 so I'm very disappointed I spent money on this newer version to only have problems. I also upgraded the Plus Pack at the same time and now feel I wasted my money on this upgrade.
I'm requesting a refund unless tech support can resolve my issues.

Hi Colin,
Thanks for your reply. I did install both 2012 upgrades over top my existing 2011 software. Since ATIH did not specify to first remove the 2011 software I assumed this was the normal way to upgrade since I did this when ugrading from 2010 to 2011.
Any recommendations would really be appreciated.
Thanks
Bruce

Bruce,
Have you run a repair install of 2012?
I suspect that something from 2011 hasn't been overwritten correctly by 2012.
Which OS are you using?
Check in MSConfig and see how many True Image Monitor entries are running under the Startup tab.

Colin,
I'm using XP Home with SP3. I only see one instance of True Image Monitor in the MSConfig list. There's also schedhlp running which I'm assuming is for my scheduled backups?
I have not run a repair at this point. Should I run it for both the ATIH and Plus Pack in that order?
Thanks again for your help.

Bruce,
Just run the TIH 2012 installer.

Colin,
I have another problem with my anti-malware software not working since TIH and PP installation. I use MalwareBytes Pro. The "real time protection" module will not load. A "Services Terminated Unexpectedly" error pops up. This was never an issue with TIH 2011 and PP 2011. Come to find out, I removed Plus Pack and now MB works again. I did try running the repairs for both modules before removing Plus Pack with no luck. My original plan was to remove both TIH & PP and return back to TIH 2011. I'm going to hold off at this point (on removing 2012) until I monitor to see if any further issues pop up.
After removing PP 2012, I haven't seen any errors at this point other then the one in the TIH log saying there's no Windows Libraries, which comes up everytime I start TIH 2012. I think I read this was a bug that needs to be addressed.
So I think there is something wrong with Plus Pack not working with my system. I'll monitor and see if the scheduled backups perform tonight.
Anything else you can think of ?
Thanks,
Bruce

The no Windows libraries message isn't a bug as such, it is an internal message that means you are not using Vista or Windows 7. This notification message was supposed to have been recoded in the release version to only appear in those systems that use Windows libraries.
It can be ignored.
The interesting thing is that the PP is benign in the respect that it doesn't do anything until you run the media builder, it does of course have registry entries so that TIH knows it's there and it has a valid serial number.
In Windows add/remove programs is PP 2011 still listed? The standard problem with having PP 2011 installed whilst trying to install 2012 itself is that it refuses to install, but it is possible you've found a different problem. I would be inclined to contact support and raise a ticket on PP 2011 stopping Malwarebytes from working.
It might be that you need to disable MB install 2011 PP and then re-enable MB to have them happy with each other. The other option is to remove all, run the 2012 uninstall cleaner utility and start again.
I don't think I've seen another post with this particular problem.
There is a known problem with 2012 itself and MB concerning the Sync feature, I wonder if the PP was a red herring - try disabling the Sync feature in Services, and then install PP 2012 and see if the problem disappears.
