Recovering data from hard drive with RAW file system.
I have a hard drive out of an old computer, and I need to recover the data. The file system is RAW. Chkdsk will not check it. I get a cyclic redundancy error upon trying to open the drive in windows. Xcopy will not copy the data in cmd prompt. I have purcahsed your software already, and the drive with the RAW file sytem does not appear in the clone window. I read of a "trueimagecmd.exe" that is included in your enterprise software, and it appears that is what I need. I appreciate any suggestions for dealing with this corrupted drive. Thanks.
ATI 2012 did not make my disk raw. It was corrupt and raw to begin with. It was returning cyclic redundancy check errors, and I thought ATI 2012 could recover the data in standalone booted mode, but I was mistaken. Does your Backup & Recovery 11 Advanced Workstation come with "trueimagecmd.exe"? I need to copy the data to a new harddrive. I have a 1tb drive which I can copy the failed 750gb drive sector by sector.
OK. ATI will not help you recovery the data on the corrupted disk, unless you used it prior to its corruption to do a backup/
You will have to google tools to help you do that. Have low expectations with what you will recover, but worth a try.
Don't format the hard drive directly, or you may lose all the data which has been stored on this hard drive. It is suggested that you don't perform any operation on the disk and recover data from raw hard drive with reliable data recovery software, like Jihosoft File Recovery.
Assuming the disk is not physically damaged and it is detected in BIOS and in Disk Management, then you can recover most of your data (depending on the presence and number of bad sectors and other issues) using special tools that ignore the partition information and search the drive sector-by-sector. There are several tools to use. I use iBoysoft Data Recovery. This utility requires registration. The free version detects your data but only recover data up to 1 GB! However, there are other free tools to try (such as Recuva), just Google "Data recovery". (Recuva, haven't tried that myself). Download the 32-bit or 64-bit version depending on your computer (less than 4GB or more than 4GB RAM). Other live CD with recovery and many other tools is Digiwiz MiniPE (Google it)
Note: Please Do NOT write any more data/make changes to the source drive you're trying to recover data from. Any additional changes to it will overwrite LBA blocks of data and prevent data recovery in whole or part of the drive.
