Recovery fails on bootup

10 days ago I downloaded SKYPE from CNET. Instantly, it trashed my audio drivers. I moved to recovery with 2010 which requires a reboot. As it was starting to boot it hung and finished wiiith the message "cannot find any hard drives". I have 3 internal drives and for recovery I have a 2Tb WD drive on USB.
How can I escape this mess?
