Recovery from NAS storage using Boot Media disk-Need help

Thread needs solution

I have worked out how to backup my PC to a Synology Diskstation DS212j NAS and it is functioning fine.

I'm now testing how to recover if my hard drive fails on PC.

I set up a recovery Boot media disk using just the defaults. However when I boot from it and choose recovery, I cannot browse anything on the NAS.

In the "file name" box, I have tried puting in names as well as the IP address for the NAS but the "OK" button remains greyed out.

Could anyone assist please. Is there a special way of setting up the recovery disk so that I can recover from the Synology NAS.

Much appreciated.

Solved it myself.

I should have realised that wifi wont work in recovery mode. When I connected via ethernet, I was able to see the NAS but using the IP address in the browse file box. This was probably obvious to everyone.
