recovery partition not working

using clone disk i upgraded a customer's hdd size from 400gb to 640gb, it ran smoothly and i succesfully booted to windows 7 after i installed the new hdd.
however when testing if the recovery option was working i discovered it did'nt.
recovery for toshi is hold zero " 0 " down while powering on then release to initate recovery.
when i do this the toshiba logo disappears and the boot screen appears with all the booting stuff in back ground. but no recovery.
how can i fix this, what options did i not use, i fiqured that cloning the disk would do just that clone an exact copy of the hdd only thing that would change is size.
