reinstalling software

Thread needs solution

Hello,
I recently got a new Dell XPS 8700 computer and had gotten the Acronis 2014 software and installed it on the computer. At that time I was offered a free upgrade to the 2015 version. I was using that for my backups.

Well, earlier today when logging on to my computer I got the screen to log into the computer all I had was a black screen with the little white arrow. Since the computer is only a few months old I called Dell Tech support for help and what they had me do was a refresh which ended up removing all of my installed software and programs. So now I need to reinstall everything. I was wondering just how I go about reinstalling the upgraded Acronis 2015 on the computer so that I can use the backups that I have already made and then restore my computer to my last backup.

I know how to restore the computer with that software, but I am guessing that I need to have the Acronis 2015 already installed on the computer to do that. So if I install the disc I have that is for the 2014 version how to I get the update again without having to pay for it?

Thanks So Very Much

One other thing that I should mention is that I did create the recovery discs when I first installed and updated the software to Acronis TureImage 2015 and when on the phone with Dell support about the issue I was having, I asked them about how to access the bios in these darn new machines running windows 8.1 since I did figure out how to access them in hopes of making sure that the boot menu for the pc started with the cd/dvd drive so that if I did need to use the acronis disk and then start the computer it will boot to that Acronis Rescue Media. I was told that I should not touch the boot order and that I could simply install the Rescue Media after turning on the computer and it would work that way. Somehow that does not sound right - especially if I had just installed a new hard drive into the computer (but there are lots of things that I just don't understand with this windows 8.1 operating system. Besides, I did try that when this problem with the black screen with just the white arrow appeared after logging in. (I could access the task manager by clicking ctrl + alt + del but that was it) If I had been able to use that disc I would have used my backup to fix the pc and I wouldn't now be trying to find out how to reinstall the Acronis TrueImage 2015 software.

I did jot down the boot mode that I found in the bios and that stated
1st UEFI: Windows Boot
2nd USB Storage
3rd Internal ODD Device
4th USB floppy
5ht Onboard Nic Device

Not sure if this matters - guessing it does, but I do have the upgrade serial number when my Acronis True Image 2014 was upgraded to the 2015 version.

Thanks Again :)

Well, I did find out that I could just reinstall the 2014 software and since it has only been a few months I was still offering me the free upgrade to the 2015 version :) I just entered the serial number into the link and it gave me a link for the upgrade and a new serial number as well :)

Now to just figure out how on earth to get this windows 8.1 with the eufi bios to boot to the dvd drive so I can use my recovery media and get my pc back to the last update.
