Removing Acronis from system problems

Thread needs solution

I upgraded an older laptop runing Windows 7 to Windows 10 Home which runs fine. This laptop had an old install of Acronis True Home (I think 2013). So I got the popup saying too many activtions. I therefore decided to uninstall Acronis from this laptop. I did it using Windows Add/Remove tool.

I then used "autoruns" to remove every instance of Acronis. When I restarted the Windows 10 laptop, it failed to boot. I finally succeeded in booting the laptop into Windows 10 by reverting to an earlier restore point.

Question: How do I remove Acronis completely from this laptop?

I notice that the Acronis folder is still present in Program Files (x86). SHould I delete it?

What about the Acronis registry entries that the uninstall left behind and which according to autoruns are still loading on bootup ?

I no longer want to use Acronis TI on this laptop. How do I get rid of it completely?

Thank you.

Stil running in Registry after uninstall are:

Acronis TIB Monitor

Acronis True Image Monitor

Acronis True Image Shell Extension (x5)

AcronisSyncError

AcronisSyncInProgress

AcronisSyncOK

and on and on!

Why were these not removed on install?

Jeff, please download and use the Acronis Cleanup Tool - link in my signature below - this will remove all traces of any Acronis True Image products from 2010 to 2016.

Thank you for replying and helping. Actually I took the easy way out. I chatted with Acronis support and he did it. He used TeamViewer to control my laptop and did more than just the cleanup tool. After uninstallinghe used the cleanup tool and then opened regedit to remove a bunch of entries, many of which were just numbers with no indication they were part of Acronis. Finally we rebooted and checked there was no further trace of Acronis.

Glad I got this tech but it really should not be that complicated to uninstall a program! In addition to the cleanup tool they should provide a script file to remove the registry entries!

Thanks for replying.
