[RESOLVED] ATIH 2012 does not recognize external hard drive where my data to be backed up resides

I just installed ATIH 2012 but cannot set up backup task for the external drive where all my data resides. I was running ATIH 2010 on Windows 7 - no problems recognizing the external drive. Switch over to 2012 and it can't be found by software.
No problem accessing the drive through Windows explorer or any other application that I use. I have two external drives: one for data and one for backups. Why doesn't Acronis "see" all of my external drives?
UPDATE: Nevermind...I found the problem/solution I was looking for.
