[RESOLVED] Is there a reason to upgrade to 2014 Premium if I don't want cloud storage?

Thread needs solution

With 5GB of free storage, I don't see how it makes sense for me to back up a 1TB drive to the cloud. Are there other benefits that I should consider before passing on the upgrade offer for 2014 Premium?

Are there any new features in 2014 that you want and would use? IMO the only reasons to upgrade any software are if the new version has features that you want, or you need a new version for compatibility.

So, if there aren't any new features in 2014 that are compelling to you, and your existing version works fine on all your hardware, then you might want to keep it.

If your current version does everything you need, and the bootable Rescue Media recognizes your hardware and can restore to your drive, then I see no need to upgrade.

The online storage with Acronis typically is 250 GB, and it's either $5/month or $50/yr. Acronis giving 5 GB free is a tease, and it will probably cause many to want to upgrade to the full 250 GB.

I always recommend to my clients, if your backup product is working and doing what you want, then leave it alone. Newer is not necessarily better. Backup products have too many problems, this is across all brands, to be casual about installing them. You should definitely use one. If it fills your needs, then hold.
