[RESOLVED] TI 2012 or 2013?

Thread needs solution

I currently own TI 2011 (and 2009 and 11, and 8 I think). I need to get to some data from a clients backup made with 2012. Since I will have to upgrade my version to get to this data, which of the newer versions do you folks think I should get? Which seems to be more solid and reliable? I will be using it now for my own backups, but from the complaints I am reading I think I would rather be keeping what I have... :(

Issue resolved here.

If you're going to upgrade, get 2013.

But, you can get data from the client's backup using the ATI 2012 bootable Rescue Media, in case you don't want to upgrade.

You can also sign up for the 2013 Trial, register your Trial serial number, and then download the 2013 Trial Rescue Media (bootable) ISO.

The ISO image file can be used to create a bootable CD/DVD that can be used to restore the earlier backup images/files.

You do not need to install the 2013 Trial to create the Rescue Media from the downloaded ISO image.

James, good idea!

Well, the good news is that I can access the 2012 .tib file with 2011 installed using explorer just as if it were a 2011 .tib. I thought there were going to be version changes that prevented that. I am pleased and don't HAVE to upgrade my version for this task. I still have to decide whether to do an upgrade just on general principles, but there is so much bitching and gnashing of teeth regarding both 2012 and 2013 that a decision is not automatic.
