Restore 1 folder, not entire volume

Thread needs solution

Running ATIH 2012 on W7/32 bit.

I'm trying to recover 1 folder from a backup set.  I don't want to recover an entire volume.  Can someone offer me a link to some info on how to do that?  TIA.

James, please see the ATIH 2012 User Guide: Recovering data from file-level backups as a starting point, plus the other sections in the guide for Recovering data.

You also have the option for Mounting an image which would allow you to navigate to the folder you want to restore and simply use Copy and Paste to restore this to where you want to have it.

Steve,

Thanks a million!!!  Mounting the image worked like a charm.  I'd never done that before but once it mounted I found the folder I wanted and restored - no problem.  I learned something new today!!  :)

Interesting though...I tried it first on a different machine and it wouldn't open the mount.  When I mounted on the machine where the TIB was created it worked fine.

Thanks again.

Jim

Jim, thanks for the feedback, glad to hear you were able to do what you wanted.
