Restore Backup Configuration

Very occasionally my machine has a hiccup (or indeed Acronis does) and the backup configuration schema seems to get lost. The backups themselves are still there, and can be accessed, but the configuration of the backups seems to be lost.

In the past I have re-created the backups, and this has seemed to work, but Acronis must, surely, backup the configuration so I can restore the backup configuration to where it was rather than recreate it. I can then continue to back up from the last incremental copy. However, I cannot find instructions for this anywhere.

So - Acronis MUST be backing up their own configuration surely - can anyone help me rather than having to recreate the configuration, I would be grateful.
