Restore Hangs at 47%

Thread needs solution

I am trying to restore my 64bit Vista machine using True Image 11 Home. It has been showing "1 hour 48 minutes remaining" on the Total Progress" bar for 10 hours. Should I cancel this? Or is it still working but only the progress bar isn't showing the real progress? What happens to my computer if I cancel in the middle of the restore? Should it still be able to boot up?

sorry to hear of your troubles. While the progress bar in ATI is notoriously inaccurate and generally useless on some machines, the kind of wait you are experiencing seems beyond the pale and it's likely your restore is hanging for one reason or another.

If you are doing a partition restore and you interrupt it, you should expect that the partition will be unusable until you reformat it or perform a new restore. It would be in about the same condition as if you had started but didn't complete a reformat.

If you started the restore from within windows, try starting it fromt he bootCD. Sometimes one works on a particular machine and not the other.

Hello David and Scott,

First of all, I'd like to apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced.

David, Scott is absolutely correct. If you're doing a disk/partition restore and you cancel it, then the partition where you've tried to restore an image will be unusable and you will need to restore the image once again. If that partition is a system one, you won't be able to boot up.

Anyway, I may suggest you to cancel the operation and try to restore the partition once again, but from the bootable CD.

Please reply to this thread if there will be any issues.

Thank you.
