Restore Operation issues

Thread needs solution

Hey all.

Had a problem with my partitioned drive. I had a XP (c) /Win 7 (e) split and a chkdsk went off while I was on 7 I let it run giving me a file 9 error and jumping the gun ran a chkdsk /r wiping out parts of the registry and my ability to effectively use xp. Since I had a backup of the image from a few days ago I decided to test it out and restore it after I wiped the xp partition (c) clean. It said the restore was success though I noticed right away I couldn't boot to either partition the boot mgr was missing. I pulled out a win 7 iso went to recovery console rebuilt the bcd and after a few tries all was well with win7 again. That fixed the boot problem for that side

Windows XP was another matter. I looked around and it suggested the same thing only going into the recovery console specific to that os and typing bootcfg /rebuild. Well for whatever reason the console wouldn't take my password neither my usual password nor blank. Could restoring things from Acronis have affected the password somehow?

I still have access to windows 7 (e) but am unsure if I can fix things from there. I can see all my folders and files again so I know acronis restored them I just have no way of getting to the OS and can't access the recovery console at present.

Should I try running another restore from within 7 as opposed to the Acronis loader at bios like I did before?
