Restoring Encrypted Image to Identical Hardware
We have a handful of loaner laptops (Dell Latitude 6420's) that we loan out to staff who go on trips, vacation, etc. A policy requires all laptops be encrypted with Check Point full disk encryption. I can successfully create an image using the sector by sector option of True Image. However, I have been unable to apply that image to any of our other laptops. I was hoping to be able to apply the encrypted image to the other loaners given that they had identical hardware.
Is what I'm trying to do even possible? I don't want to waste my time trying different options if this simply can't be done.

Thanks for the reply. The encryption process is rather time consuming which is why we wanted to try and image the laptops after it had been done. I'll see what Check Point says.

I agree with Pat. I hope you get a satisfactory resolution to your problem and I applaud your company for having the good sense to have an encryption policy for portable computers. Too much information goes missing these days from lost/stolen unencrypted computers and drives.
