Restoring an image
I am having trouble restoring an image from a back up that is on an external drive.
I am going through the steps that show up on the screen but I am never able to bet to the final one, seems like I am missing a step.
Is there a video that I can watch that shows the steps involved to restore a back up image?
Thanks

Tell me more about both the source and the target.
Disk size: target disk smaller or larger
Which versioin of Windows
As viewed in Windows disk management, how many partitions are shown?
Is all of the partitons shown in Windows disk management included within the backup.
As starting point might be signature link #3 below and see whether items 1 or 2 or 3 fit what you are trying to do.

One first step might be to follow one of my guides.
Click on signature link 3 below and use item 3 which is to restore C only.
If you have not done so yet, do create a Window 8 Recovery CD.
One place you mgiht find the option to create would be the Control Panel/Backup.

GroverH,
Thanks for the help.
Should I just make an image using C: or include the "System" too?
Also what is the difference between selecting System and C: or Disc mode?
As you can see the backup goes well but when I want to restore the image there are so many options to go through, I had earlier versions of TI and I recall the process much easier, less steps involved to restore.

You should always include *all* partitions that are on your system *disk*. Of then the system *disk* includes the "system" partition and other partitions that are hidden from Windows explorer, but that Windows disk management can see. A way to include all partitions is to switch to disk mode so that, instead of checking all appropriate partitions for backup, you check the disk itself and therefore include all the partitions.

I have attached another pic, what does recover disc signature mean?
Grover, I will review your link 3 this weekend.

It is easier on you and us if your attachments as just the jpg (single or multipe) rather than an inclusion into Word.
Your illustration shows you doing the restore from inside Windows. It is best that the restore be done when booted from the TI Recovery CD.
The disk signature option is when you are restoring your system onto a new disk. It is not normally selected when restoring over an existing working system.
