Restoring an image using recovery CD from a NAS (UnRAID) that does not require authentication

Thread needs solution

I'm having a problem getting the live boot CD to login to my UnRAID server (which is where I store all my backups). There's no authentication necessary (the server is wide open) and backups work fine, but, when I go to recover using the LiveCD it just keeps asking for authentication. This was a known issue with older versions of Acronis, I'm hoping there is a workaround for this version.

In general, the problem is, NAS does not require U/P to access shares. Acronis is able to backup to this device without a problem, but if you try to restore using the LiveCD, you will be continually prompted for U/P information (and no password, or "anonymous" will not work).

Thank you!

 Hello Michael,

Thank you for taking time to contact us.

What is the exact model of your NAS? Is the issue reproducible using the Windows part of the program?

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.

The NAS is an UnRAID device running v4.5.6 Pro. It's a LimeTech RB1200.

Windows recovery works fine from the UnRAID server. It's only with the boot CD that it's asking for authentication. The NAS is "open" authentication (which I believe is the issue), it doesn't require a U/P to access it.

 Hello Michael,

Thank you for your response.

We will create a custom CD for the diagnostic purposes and will send it to you as soon as possible.

I've submitted a new case, the number is ATIHIIOXII-6502

Thank you.

Thank you very much. If you can just send me a link to an ISO, I'd be happy to burn the CD and save you the postage.

Mike
