Restoring

Thread needs solution

I created an image for my old C drive, which included Windows XP. I want to restore this image to a USB drive- not my current system drive, which now has Vista on it.

I know I cannot boot Windows XP from a usb drive. That is not why I want to restore the image onto the USB drive. There are other files on that image, apart from thje operating system, that I wish to access.

Is there any way to restore the old image onto a usb drive and will I be able to get to the non OS files?

Thank-you

Cal

You should be able to do a disk restore onto the usb drive;
or
mount the backup as an auxiliary data drive and copy/paste the files from the aux drive onto the usb or a drive of your choosing;
or
right click on the *.tib backup file and chose the EXPLORE option and then browse to the folders of interest and copy/paste the folder or files onto any drive of your choosing.
