Safe to install on a new HP Probook ?

Thread needs solution

Hello!

Just purchased the HP Probook 4530s. It does not come with recovery disks, but with a recovery partition that can be accessed during boot.

I was wondering if I were to install TI, and enable the boot feature (F11), would it clash/overwrite the default structure ?

Currently on boot we press ESC to enter startup menu, where F11 takes us to the recovery console.

HP also does not ship with a way to make recovery disks, and I was hoping TI would take care of that.

Regards,
Sidhu

Yes, if you turn on the Acronis ASRM, you will overwrite the code that lets you boot directly in the recovery console.

Don't use the ASRM! It is much more important to test and use the Acronis recovery CD on your computer: this is what you will need if your disk dies. Once this is working with backups not stored on your laptop, you can create an "original" backup of your laptop, include the MBR. So if you ever need to use the recovery partition, you can first restore that MBR, then get to the recovery partition.
Frankly, once you use ATI, you would never go back to the recovery partition, unless ATI fails you.
