Scheduling Sequence

Thread needs solution

I'm using TI2013 and have a schedule setup to do 5 different backups (will call them backup 1,2,3,4,5), each one scheduled to start at 4am. How do I know which backup will run first or last. What sequence does the scheduler follow?

Thanks for any help you can give. I did not find anything in the forum.

That is a good question. I'm not sure how the Acronis scheduler will handle that. If you have a prefence in the order they run, you may try setting them up to run at different times to see what happens. Ie: Backup 1 at 4:00, 2 at 4:01, 3 at 4:02, etc. Please let us know of your results.

I am guessing but I would imagine they would run in the sequence in which the task was created-if all using the same start time--but this is a guess.

I did some testing:

1. I created 5 backup tasks (all tasks backed up 1 file): Backup 5, Backup 4, Backup 3, Backup 2, Backup 1 in the order shown.
2. I assigned a schedule to each of them: 2 minutes apart, Backup 1 11:40, Backup 2 11:38, Backup 3 11:36, Backup 4 11:34, Backup 5 11:32
As assumed, Backup 5 ran first, Backup 1 ran last.
3. I then changed the schedule for each of them to the same time: 12:10. Backup 5 ran first, Backup 1 ran last. The only thing that makes sense
in this case is the tasks ran in the order that I created them since they all had the same time.
4. I then changed the schedule as follows: Backup 1 1:00, Backup 3 1:02, Backup 2 1:04, Backup 4:1:06, Backup 5 1:08. The backups ran
in the following sequence: 1,3,2,4,5
5. I deleted all tasks and backups and created three more tasks in the following order: Backup 4, Backup 3, Backup 5 and assigned the same time
to all of them: 2:30. The backups ran in the following order: 4,3,5... the same order as I created them.

If anyone has more input I would like to hear their findings...
