You can make a short cut on your desktop to a task, but I'm not sure if this starts the GUI up to run.

The only program which can definitely accept scripts and run in non GUI mode is ABR11.5 Workstation.

Here is the details to perform the suggested shortcut as referenced by MVP Colin

Using 2012 or 2013 TrueImage Home, it is possible to run a backup task from a desktop shortcut without the program being opened by the user first.

Open TrueImage

Use either an existing task or create a new task with all the desired otpions--either scheduled or not-scheduled.

Right click anywhere inside your backup task. Note name assigned to your task.
Click "More"
Click "Create shortcut"
Close TrueImage

Now, examine your desktop and you will find a new shortcut and the name assigned to that shortcut will be the same name as the backup task which created the shortcut.

Clicking the shortcut will cause the backup to the initiated and the task will follow whatever rules which has been assinged to the task.

Note: using the command line information from within this shortcut can also be used to configure a Windows Scheduled task if there is a need to use the Windows Scheduler.
