Serial Number does not work???
Hello All,
After the latest update from Acronis my Windows 7 would not clone the hard disk any longer. I have not had a problem with the program until this last update. When it reboots to do the clone process it displays a bunch of gibberish on the Dos Screen.
I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it from the original program exe file. When I entered my purchased serial number it was rejected by the install program. What is going on?? Why will it not accept my registered serial number? Was the number I purchased only good for 30 days? I am a little disappointed with the program at this time.
Any Ideas?????
Thanks, RAC

Richard,
As dev-anon asks, was your copy of build 5551 an upgrade? If it was you will need your old serial number as well as your upgrade one. If your copy was an OEM one such as from Western Digital or Seagate (for example) you will need to reinstall those programs as the serial number is embedded into OEM products.
As for cloning, someone else has reported garbled text. I would strongly suggest that cloning is only attempted when using the recovery CD if the disk contains the operating system, things can go wrong when rebooting from Windows into Linux.
