Serial Number issue after downloading and installing upgrade for True Image 2014

First, the whole upgrade process is confusing for me. I downloaded the upgrade from the Acronis website and installed it. This resulted in my having a "trial" version of the product. When I attempted to enter my serial number(s) I have two seats, I get the following message:

The specified serial number was already used with this installation. Please type another one. You can purchase a serial number at http://www.acronis.com/buy/atih or http://www.acronis.com/trueimage/gettrial.

Now I am stuck with the "trial" version and the clock is ticking.
