setting compression rate

Thread needs solution

The backup I have set up is taking more space than anticipated. I can't seem to find how to set the compression level. According to support article 48506 the settings should be found by going to options-> performance where I should find a slider bar to set the compression. Unfortunately the only thing under Performance is operation priority. Any ideas where this setting may be?

I haven't found it, either. It seems that several key features of earlier versions have been removed or are broken.

I agree. I sure would like to know how to do this. I find this software lacking. The reviews made it sound great but adjusting the compression should be simple also can't find any reports to list what files were not backed up. I would love to get money back. :-(

For compression setting from the Backup screen select Backup Options, Advanced, Performance Tab:

I think almost every one that tried ti found that changing the compression setting only made things worse, either fiels were too big for a small savings in time or the files weren't much smaller but took terrifically longer to be created. The default compression method is the best one for almost every situation because it hits the optimum of speed and size. Trading off either from that point runs down a steep incline. It was an option best left unused.
