snapapi_virtualdisk.zip How can I tell if it's installed??

I have Pluspack 2012 Update 2, build 7119 under XP Svc Pk3 with current updates. I was helping a friend the other night who has ATI Home 2013, and needed to do a restore. He could see his backup files under Windows 7, but when using his Bootable media recovery DVD to try the restore, none of backup files showed up. We figured it might have something to do with the USB 3.0 he's using. He did some searching on the Acronis site and found the "SnapApi_VirtualDisk.Zip" update file.
My questions are --- How can "I" tell if "MY" - 2012 version or the Windows drivers have these updates installed? And will it "hurt" anything if I run this update and the files are already there??? I do NOT currently have a USB 3.0 device on my system but that could change at any time.
