[SOLVED] ATI 2011 - bootable rescue media - shutdown does not work from main screen [Case 00971985]
i have booted from CD build 14.0.6574 (acronis true image home 2011 plus pack)
at the main acronis welcome screen there is a button in the bottom left corner: shut down / power off / power down (or whatever it's called in english).
when i click on it it does nothing.
also CTRL+F4 will do nothing.
- CPU: dualcore Intel Core i5 660 (with integrated graphics)
- chipset: iQ57 (Intel Ibex Peak Q57, Intel Ironlake)
is this a known bug?
or is it because of my hardware?
cheers, philipp

in http://forum.acronis.com/forum/16584 i have reported that i'm not able to create an acronis system report via bootable rescue media.
however, in case i trigger ATI from the bootable media there's an option to create the system report from within ATI. i'm attaching that system report.

still the same with update 6597
bootable CD: ATI Home 2011 Plus Pack 14.0.6597 (self made)
* clicking the shutdown button will do nothing
* CTRL-F4 will do nothing
* ALT-F4 will do nothing
* CTRL-ALT-DEL: pressing it once makes the system hang / freeze - need to press the power button for 4 seconds to get out of there!
.
and i have also tried with:
bootable CD: ATI Home 2011 Plus Pack 14.0.6597 (iso download)

philippg,
Couple thoughts.
Regarding the non-functional keys. I have a Logitech wired keyboard and it has an additional key (F-lock) at the top and I have seem similar keys on other keyboards. This "F-lock" key must be engaged in order for the F keys to functions. Any time my F keys are not responsive, I press the "F-lock" key and retry the control characters again.
I had a slightly similar issue wth differences of build numbers. Build numbers were not the same on the CD as installed. I found that I had a mix of versions installed and especially with the PlusPack.
My correction was to uninstall and reinstall both the TI 6696 and the PlusPack 6696. That only partially cured the issue. After further checking, I then found that the 3 BartPE folders (which included the Safe version download) were not all the same. I copied the BartPE folder from the TIH folder onto the Bootable Componets and Media-Add-ons folder and my build issue was resolved. This was the location on my XP Pro system.
C:\Program Files\Acronis\TrueImageHome\BartPE\
C:\Program Files\Acronis\BootableComponents\BartPE\
C:\Program Files\Acronis\Media Add-ons\

update: i have agreed to close this support ticket.
with latest build (bootable ISO download of ATI Home 2011 Plus Pack 14.0.6942) the situation seems to have improved.
i tested 8 systems (3 pretty old, 5 brand new) and only one single system is showing the symptoms.
so it seems the following knowledge base article applies: http://kb.acronis.com/content/24503 (BIOS has a bug in the APM implementation).
so i will go ahead and open up a support ticket with the motherboard manufacturer.

Thanks for the update. Until more of a solution is found, perhaps these two links could be of assistance as a workaround. These are in my index as items 3-KK and 3-L.
