SOLVED: Phantom Task Fails to Run

Thread needs solution

Anyone has a cure for this annoyance:

I have two scheduled tasks listed in Acronis TI Home 2010 -- one does a nightly backup of data files at 10:31 pm and the other does a last-day-of-the-month monthly disk image backup on the lst day of each month. Both of hese two scheduled run as expected.

The problem is that EVERY night at 10:01 pm a third task, which is not in the task list, attempts to run and fails with the following message in the log: Error Scheduler failed to run task choice, 0 ""} because of error 1326 (Cannot log on with the specified credentials. The account probably does not exist or the password is invalid.)

Anyone knows why this unlisted task is attempting to run and how do I get rid of it?

Thanks.

I think I have figured out how to solve this one but I will not know until tonight at 10:01 pm.

Looking through the Knowledge Base this morning, I found the command line driven program "schedmgr.exe." Using this program, I was able to get a txt listing all of the scheduled tasks. In this listing, it was easy to identify the task that was failing. Using the info in KB 1859 and schedmgr.exe, I was able to delete the specific task that I think was causing the problem.

But, as I said, I will not know until tonight if this works....

Problem solved. No more phantom task running and listed task runs fine. Only problem now is that the calender does not show green, indicating a successful run though the log shows everything worked fine. I'll live with that.
