Some issues

Thread needs solution

I am not sure where to post this.. please bear with me.

I have some issues with True Image 2013.

1) Backups keep becoming "inconsistent", however when I try to find out why, right-clicking the tray icon and clicking status does nothing so there doesn't seem to be anything I can do to diagnose. No errors in event viewer.
2) When 1) happens, I can't shut down my computer. It stays on the screen "your computer is performing operations and will shutdown by itself" (or something along those lines).

3) Point 2 occurs when backups are running normally as well and never shuts down long after they should have finished (I have left my machine on for days in this state!).

Any assistance please?
My machine is a Windows 7 Ultimate x64 with 6GB RAM. Quad CPU @ 2.50GHz

Hello Dan,
I'm not sure what you mean by inconsistent. Do you mean not ocurring regularly?

1. Please tell us what you mean by inconsistently. Maybe we can help. Unless the program was crashing, you should not expect to see any entries in the SYstem Event Viewer - System or Applications logs in regards to a failure. The Acronis Log file however, should contain information about an operation. If it completed or why it didn't for example. If the Validation option (which is enabled by default) during task creation is not unchecked, Acronis will perform a Validation of a back up immediately after it completes.... A dialog that states "Operation Are In Progress' will display on your screen at shutdown for example... when you might be expecting for the system to power off. Eventually, it will shut down on its own... but not until the operation or validation completes. I think I addressed #2 and 3 here as well.

Here's what I recommend. Disable the Validation option. Edit Task, Disk Back Up Options > Advanced Tab... see pages 59 and 67 in the User Guide for reference. Since Validation is an important part of your Back Up regimine, You can schedule it to run when you want it. Let us know if you have further questions.
