Specify Backup Location
I just installed True Image 2012. When I activated a full disk backup the service defaulted to "M:\my backups". I set a specific directory with a unique name and I browsed to it and selected it for the backup file location. Yet when I activated the backup it saved the file to "M". I have had this location specifying issue with older versions. What am I doing wrong? Right now, after the backup completes, I just move the "TIB" file to the folder I want to use.

It is possible to control the target folder where your backup files are to be stored but the target folder selection can only be selected from one specific place as indicated below.
After task created, the target folder is listed under the

Completed task shows storage target location.

That is a problem. I want to have control over a default location of my backup files without browsing for the new location each time I start a backup session.
Why is it so difficult to provide an option that would allow me to do so?
By the way are you showing GUI for 2012?

Hi John,
My illustration uses 2012 but would be very similar if using 2011.
This link shows how to create backup task using 2012 and will also work for 2011.

The program does not permit the user to change the "default" location but it DOES provide that you can set anytarget folder you wish within each backup task. As you create backups by executing the task, you can create multiple backups for the same source to the same target using a single task.
Best results or fewer problems (in my opinion) result by directing each backup task to a different folder. In my opinion, the user should not store a file backup plus other backups of partitions--all in the same folder. This is why you see each of the 3 backup tasks pointing to different folders and even different storage disks. All could be directed to the same disk but I would recommend each task to a different folder or the same folder but with a different sub-folder--such as
x:\your backups\task 1\multiple backups *.tib
x:\your backups\task 2\\multiple backups *.tib
x:\your backups\task 3\\multiple backups *.tib
x:\your backups\task 4\\multiple backups *.tib

Many users have requested the option to create their own default folder so but so far, Acronis has not offered such a feature to users like you and me.
