Specify Day of the Week for Full Backup?

Thread needs solution

A feature I miss in ATI Home 2012 that I had in a previous competing backup product is the ability to specify the day of the week the full backup is to occur when doing version chain-like backups. In other words, I want the full backup to occur every Sunday morning at 1:00 AM followed by six incrementals. Does the 2013 version have that ability?

Hello Bob,

Thank you for using Acronis Forum.

You can define your backup scheme by using custom scheme. You will find this in our Online Help. Use the scheme Differential or Incremental for your settings. Find some examples here.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

It would be nice (and has been requested in the past) to have such a capability but nothing in the program will force a subsequent full to occur on a fixed day if the program also calls for x number incrementals which have not been completed.

With 2012 and 2013, the only way you can achieve this using TI is to force/start the program on the correct first day. If the computer misses any of the 6 incrementals (computer off), the next full will not occur until the 6 incs have been completed so the next full will NOT occur on the preferred Sunday. The schedule can be set to daily, or to Weekly with each day marked. Either will produce the same result.

Is is possible to achieve with Chain2Gen but even then, if the computer is off any Sunday, the full date will be missed and not occur until the next Sunday.

Peter and Grover thank you both. It would be nice to have this capability in a future update to the program so Acronis, please consider this a feature request.

Bob,
Although Peter works for Acronis, it never hurts to send your feedback and suggestions to the Acronis feedback link here : http://www.acronis.com/support/feedback.html. I too, wish this was a feature of the scheduler.

Good point James. I just submitted the feature request through the proper channels.
