Spontaneous re-boot with NVIDIA Nforce mobo and RAID 1

Thread needs solution

When I try to backup my data, I get a spontaneous re-boot. I have an NVIDIA Nforce 560 motherboard, and have two seagate drives set up as a RAID 1. I am using TI home edition, build 9796, Windows XP SP 3.

Hello Leonard!

Thank you for reporting about the issue.

Looks like here we have faced the drivers conflict, so I would like to offer you a workaround.

Please follow the steps provided below in order to implement the workaround:

1. Run regedit and find the following registry key:

  • Acronis True Image Home 2009, Acronis True Image Build 8203 or higher: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\snapman380\Parameters
  • Other Acronis products: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\snapman\Parameters

(see Screenshot Step1)

2. Add Parameters key if it does not exist yet:

(see Screenshot Step2)

3. Add new DWORD Value

(see screenshot Step3)

4. Set the new item's name to MaxSplitBlock and its value equal to 100 (decimal)

(see screenshot Step4)

5. The workaround is completed

(see Screenshot Step5)

In case the issue persists, we will need to take a closer look at the issue, so could you please kindly do the following:

  1. - Download AcronisInfo
    - Run the downloaded file.

    The gathered information will be put in AcronisInfo.zip in the same folder, where the AcronisInfo was saved.

    This information will allow us to take a closer look at the Acronis product state and logs.

  2. Could you please download Acronis Report utility  and run it, create a report and send it to us? Please compress the Acronis Report output file into an archive (e.g. with WinZip) and attach to your message by browsing for the archive.
    This would provide us with detailed information on the hard disk partition structure.
  3. Run "regedit" command and let us know the data lines of the below registry keys:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E967-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} -> UpperFilters
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{71A27CDD-812A-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F} -> UpperFilters

Please kindly contact us with the information gathered, we will review it and provide you with a solution.

Thank you!
