Spreading backup across mutiple HDD -restoring possible?
So my new total backup is 2.45 TB.
My plan is to store 1.09 TB on one harddrive, and the rest on one other.
Will this be possible, or be a problem?
Obviously I will restore using live rescue media, in the event I have new hardware pc or my current pc breaks.

With TrueImage Home any version will not work if backup spread between disks.
Research the business version of 11.5. I believe that version of the backup software does permit spreading.

Correction:
Review this link. It inidicates certain types splitting is possible

but I will be able to restore just a part of it right?
allow me to explain.
I got C drive with operating system backup size of that is approx 1.09 TB. I know this because I backup this before.
I let 1.3 TB in backup files on one harddrive, and 1.2 TB on another.
My other drive that is backupped is the E: drive with 400 PC games. Not so much priority then the OS.
So with the 1.3 TB backup files I would be able to restore just the C drive yes??
Or is selective backup process not possible from rescue media, and only within windows?
( i know within windows u can choose to retreive individual files and disks.)

If the backup file is not corrupt and validates successfully, a restore should be possible.

I am in a similar boat. I am trying to back up a RAID array of 8 2 TB disks (total space used is 2*6 TB). I bought a set of 8 new 4TB drives. I cannot expand the RAID array due to the nature of the array. Here is what I tried to do.
1. Create a sector backup of the RAID array to the 4TB disks. Have Acronis split the array in 2 TB chunks. I mounted 3 of the 4TB disks as a spanned Windows drive so that Acronis would back up to them.
2. Remove the 2 TB drives, reformat them as regular separate drives and copy one of each of the files to the 2 TB drives.
3. Create the new RAID array with the 4 TB drives
4. Restore the array from the 2TB drives to the 4 TB drives.
Here is the problem. Acronis lets you split files, but if you move them, then Acronis refuses to open the backup files. It won't detect any of my external hard drives as being removeable. I now have wasted 6 days creating a backup I cannot use. Fortunately I have been cautious and testing it out before i did anything to my RAID array.
Looks like I am going to have to create a bunch of 2 TB partitions on the 4TB drives, let Acronis split the backups automatically when it runs out of space, then move the 2TB chunks to the 2TB drives. Very frustrating that they didn't support the idea of splitting backups over multiple hard drives. Very disappointing.
