Well, this is weird.

While attempting to recover a system backup from one external hard drive to another external hard drive, I received the following alert:

"Check disk utility requires user intervention.
This volume will be checked the next time the system restarts.
The type of the file system is NTFS.
Cannot lock current drive.

Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another
process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be
checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N) : ⎂Yes/⎂No/⎂Cancel/"

I would add that my system backup is faithfully reproduced on the external drive, but when I reboot I do have to to go through a Chkdsk.

Does anybody know what is going on here?
