Suddenly Acronis asks windows login info

Thread needs solution

I have bought a new NAS (replacing an older one), the first few days acronis worked as before but faster. To be sure i started a new backup in a different folder but acronis keeps asking for a window login

I'm not using a password on this computer (i even tried to use one), but i keep getting this window and am unable to backup my data.

Sorry the info on the screenshot is in Dutch

Floris, welcome to these user forums.

If you are backing up to a new NAS then the pop-up message is looking for your NAS credentials, not your Windows ones.  You should enter the user name and password needed for the NAS in the box shown to you.

Please see KB document: 58004: Acronis True Image 2016: Troubleshooting Issues Related to NAS Credentials which has a lot of information about problems with NAS credentials that may be helpful to you.

Thanks,

it works now. But why does acronis ask for windows login in stead of NAS login?

Floris, I would suspect that it is just asking for the credentials needed to access the backup location, and these could be Windows credentials depending on how your backup location is configured, i.e. as a mapped drive etc.

It wants the NAS logon. The title of the login is misleading, but it's for the account needed to authenticate to the NAS (as setup on the NAS).
