Sync frustration
How can I "encourage" the Sync function to actually function how I want it to? I have 2 computers on a wireless home network. I used to sync a folder between them very successfully, however since downgrading to TI2014 the sync always fails.
I can not delete the sync (and god knows I have tried) I can not delete the sync contents, as no matter how I do it, the contents always reappears. I have un linked the computers, which always re link again.
The only solution I can thin of is un install TI2014 and never use it again. Its either that or throw the PC out of the window.
W7 32
W8.1 64
How can software be considered suitable for release when you can not control a simple function like this?

I am not sure what file is causing the problem, but there is nothing prohibited, I have just rechecked the list to make sure.
If I were to uninstall Acronis from both PC's, delete all sync'd items, then reinstall Acronis would the scheduled tasks be removed as well? That was I can re schedule the ones I want, and ignore the sync.
I know the answer is 'try it and see' but I would rather not waste eny more time on this if someone already knows the answer.
Many thanks

Am not sure what you mean when you say you downgraded to TI 2014? Did you use to have Win 8.0 at one point and then did a Win 8.1 upgrade and since then you have experienced this sync problem?
Sometime uninstalling and starting over solves issues.

When I say 'downgraded' I mean that TI2013 was working perfectly on XP, but then when I got W8 I had to get TI2014 since when I have had the problems.

I am going to take a guess here and say that your photos in Win 8.0 or 8.1 which ever you have reside in a photo folder within the Windows Libraries of your OS installation. Therefore, the sync will not work as outlined in the documentation. You can verify where exactly your photos reside on your machine by opening an explorer window, then open your photos folder, and look at the path in the box above the resulting view, something like. C:\Windows\Libraries\Photos.

All data sync'd is in a separate folder on the D drive of each PC. The file path in Acronis Sync is D:\documents\sync

You should take a look at the folder permissions on each machine properties and make sure that sharing is enabled on both. My guess is your Win 8 machine is not set up to share the folder and is preventing sync from working.

Permissions are fine. I can edit PC1's files from PC2, and vica versa

Ok, I suspect your sync is between 2 computers under 1 Acronis account. I suspect that you created this sync using your online Acronis account? Reading the instructions for this it appears to me that once you create a sync on 1 machine you would then have to join that sync from the other computer, did you complete that step?
Your first OP sounds like you cannot do anything within the sync such as delete content, cancel the sync, etc. yet you say in your last post the you can edit from one machine on the other. That is confusing? If you can edit from one to the other your sync should work fine unless there is something wrong with the way in which the sync was created, at least it appears that way to me.

Yes to your first question.
I can edit and delete the files at D:\documents\sync either locally or from the other computer HOWEVER the edit or delete does not 'stick' and the file reverts to its previous state.
The SYNC is overwriting the edits with the previous information held in either the cloud or the other machine.
This works if I edit from PC1 to PC2, PC2 to PC1, delete the cloud copy, whatever I do the sync will not delete.

OK, I have not finally managed to sort this out.
I uninstalled Acronis from both computers, deleted the sync folder from both computers and the cloud, reinstalled acronis on both computers and the files that would not delete have not reappeared.
If only Acronis would allow the first sync to be deleted none of this would have been necessary.
Thanks for trying to help
