sys restarting fails after booting with cd and then closing ATI 13

Thread needs solution

So, I had a very old version of ATI and just purchased the family pack for ATI 13. Overall, I'm very satisfied that this is a powerful program!

However, after creating a boot disk, then booting from that (on my "Vista box")- it booted up fine, loaded ATI- but, when I close the program from the X in the upper right- the screen goes black, then I see in the upper left "system restarting"- but nonething happens- I notice that the hard drive light on the computer is doing nothing- after several minutes, I pushed the restart button- then restarted the system OK.

I don't suppose this is critical - it's more of an inconvience.

However, doing the same on my "XP box"- on that, in fact, the system does restart on its own.

Just curious if anyone else has seen this problem? Must be a Vista problem.

Otherwise, just some background on my use- with the older Home 11 version- I successfully made a full drive backup- then installed a new much larger hard drive, and the restore of the image worked perfect. I was blown away by that- first time thrill, I guess. :) I use the XP box as a test machine.

As I study the manual for ATI 13, I find some things I'm not sure about- so I'll start some other threads on those issues.

Your issue has nothing to do with Vista. The behavior of the recovery has noting to do with the installed OS. Most likely some obscure BIOS interface.
Shouldn't be an issue. In fact, you can safely shutdown/reset the computer once any operation is complete from the recovery CD.
