System very unstable since doing Acronis restore
Hi, my mother board apparently shorted a couple of months ago, and after it was replaced I used the acronis 2013 boot disk to get my system back to the state it was in before the problem. However, ever since then my system is horrendously unstable, crashing with all sorts of different system errors. I tried to do a memory check to see if the problem was with my disks, but it won't run one, it says memtest.efi is missing. Before the restore my boot time was very fast, as I have an ssd drive, but I no longer have this speed on boot up, and most of my validations of my backup are failing with 'the archive is corrupted on partition 0-0'. I know something has gone wrong, but have no idea where to look for the problem, and I'm not particularly technically literate. If I can't find a solution I'll just have to re-install the operating system and start again. I notice I have a new partition called 'system reserved' that wasn't there before, but I believe that's something to do with the restore? I used to just use 'ghost' to backup and restore my system, and that was simple, but this seems somewhat more complicated and I think I've stuffed it up somewhere.

I had some troubles a while ago with a used computer that I bought directly from Dell, with Vista for the OS, just off a 3 year lease. It should have been able to run with XP, but I had a lot of trouble after a clean install of the XP OS and drivers. I brought it in to Staples and for $40 dollars (assuming no defective hardware), they fixed everything in a few days. I was extremely pleased. If you give them a try, make sure to bring the Acronis back-up images and install disk, as maybe they will find a simple fix. Good luck!!!
